Julie's Story
What I didn’t know was what was happening underneath all of it. For months, my body kept telling me something was wrong pain, sleepless nights, night sweats. I put it down to overdoing it with exercise, maybe perimenopause. My GP wasn’t so quick to settle on that. She kept digging. Blood tests, a pelvic ultrasound, anti-inflammatories nothing helped, and nothing explained it.
Eventually she sent me for a CT scan, in case it was a kidney stone.
That was the day everything changed.
The radiographer told me she’d really recommend I contact my doctor that day. I walked out to my partner and burst into tears before I’d said a word. We got the last appointment of the day. It’s probably just a kidney stone, I told myself.
It wasn’t.
A few days later, with the pain worsening, I was admitted straight to the oncology ward, before anyone even knew for certain what the mass was. Testing moved fast. Before I’d had time to process any of it, I was hearing the words Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Stage 3. That was September 2025. I cried. I’m grateful my partner was there there’s no way I could have held onto a single detail of that conversation alone.
I started chemotherapy and immunotherapy days later. Treatment was hard seven months took a real toll on my body. On 23 February 2026, I was told I was in remission. Even now, I still find it hard to believe I went through cancer, survived it, and came out the other side.
What surprised me most was what happened next. Once you’re told you’re in remission, it’s almost like: go live your life. Recovery takes time. Come back every three months for bloods.
And then you’re standing there, alive, “done,” and utterly unsure of who you are or what comes next.
That gap between finishing treatment and actually feeling like yourself again is where AWAKEN was born. I’m building this because I searched for that kind of support myself and couldn’t find it. So many women land in that exact space: alone, unseen, unheard.
This is the work I do now, alongside other women finding their way through that same space.

How We Work Together

Rebuilding
Identity
We start by getting honest about who you are now, not who you were before, and not who you think you "should" be.

Body-Mind
Integration
Movement and mindset work together here. As your body rebuilds strength, your sense of self rebuilds alongside it.

Community
Support
You're never doing this in isolation. Connection with other women who understand is part of how the rebuilding happens.

Steady, Self-Paced Progress
No rigid timelines, no comparison. Progress that respects where your body and energy actually are, day to day.
